I’m back from a three week whirlwind tour around the UK, happily exhausted but mentally refreshed and ready to dive into a number of exciting projects. The main reason for the trip was to attend the unveiling of my Rangers 150th Dream Scene at the club’s Legends Dinner in Glasgow.

As this post’s title image suggests it was a memorable night with the special crew that are the Glaswegian Rangers community. In almost 25 years of doing this I don’t the I’ve had a more enjoyable night. The paInting was warmly received and I enjoyed several heart to heart chats with people of all ages letting me know what the Club means to them and how the painting touched them. The imagery and storytelling in it resonated with folks, bringing up a flood of memories and emotions spanning entire lifetimes. To me this is extremely satisfying and justifies all the hard work in trying to justify the trust placed in me to tell someone else’s story as best I can. This is what these paintings are all about. I am bit too old to drink pints with whiskey chasers until 3am, but… when in Rome…

The great thing about working in the UK is that the journey between meetings means meandering through some of the most picturesque countryside on earth. From the divine Lake District to the rugged majesty of the Scottish Western Highlands.

I also stopped in to visit Aston Villa about a potential project for their 150th Anniversary and Chelsea FC too.

Back home now to get stuck into the Indian Temple scene, a race horse related commission, a portrait of the tragically Late Great Shane Warne, something possibly for Liverpool FC, Man City and much more. Stay tuned for a very exciting next 12 months.
