I couldn’t think of a more fitting subject for a painting! Plenty of blood and sweat in this one. It features Joel busting through a pack in typical fashion. Joel chose the opposition to be arch rivals Hawthorn as there have been so many great battles with them throughout his career.

Joel is the type of player that all AFL fans respect for his tough, uncompromising approach to the game. He has been a pleasure to work with on this project.
